Karachi (ENI) A seminar on the status of elderly people in Sindh was organized on November 20, 2024 at Hotel Mehran with the support of Senior Friends Network, Foundation for Aging and Inclusive Development and HelpAge International. Welfare Department was Mir Tariq Ali Talpur. Secretary Mr. Parvez Ahmed Sehar, former minister Ms. Shamim were the special guests. Mr. Akbar Ali Rana, Chairman BDN, Mr. Aslam Shaikh, Former Law Secretary and Sessions Judge, Project Co-Coordinator (FIDE) Mr. Syed Sajjad Hussain, CEO APHA, Mr. Nishat Ahmed, Provincial Coordinator Global Fund (TB) ), Dr. Salim Hasan Kazmi, Additional Director (Ex) SW, Ms. Riyaz Fatima, Ms. Nazanin Naz were the keynote speakers, the status of implementation of Senior Citizens Act 2014 and the elderly in Sindh. Discussed the status of individuals, Ms. Kiniz Iqbal and Mr. Shakeel presented a short play, highlighting the issues of senior citizens written by Ms. Riaz. IJCOP Central President Raja Abdul Khaliq, EN News Director News Khalid Khan Rand also participated in the seminar, besides this, a large number of senior citizens participated in the seminar and after the seminar, food was served to all the participants.
Such programs and seminars can help solve the problems of senior citizens. And senior citizens are also encouraged.
