Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir NI (M) HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) visited Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF), Pakistan’s largest defence industrial complex in Wah.
The visit focused on reviewing POF’s production capabilities, export potential and contribution to the country’s defence industrial base.
During the visit, COAS and CDF were briefed on various aspects of POF’s operations and its role in strengthening national defence through indigenous development and production of various types of military equipment. They also witnessed tests and trials of locally developed and manufactured arms and ammunition, highlighting POF’s commitment to innovation, self-reliance and enhancing Pakistan’s defence production capabilities.
The COAS and CDF were briefed on the progress of the corporatization process following the enactment of the DIPRA Ordinance.
The Field Marshal was also briefed on the ongoing localization and upgradation efforts through the installation of two new industrial plants, which are expected to commence production by the end of this year.
The visit highlighted the Army’s commitment to promoting self-reliance, local production and technological innovation in Pakistan’s defense sector.
